VARIETIES AVAILABLE
NORWAY SPRUCE - The
traditional Christmas Tree. If purchased from a reputable grower, freshly cut,
kept cool
and well watered it will hold its needles nearly as well as any other
variety.
SERBIAN SPRUCE - Narrow
delicate tree, with blue/grey underside to its needles, reasonable needle
holding qualities if looked after.
BLUE SPRUCE - Silvery blue
tinge to needles with pungent smell of citrus. Very pretty, but very prickly!
FRASER FIR - More
expensive than spruce as takes longer to grow. Uniform shape, strong branches,
excellent needle holding qualities.
NORDMAN FIR - The most
expensive of the trees, simply because it takes twice as long to grow as a
spruce.
Bushy, with straight branches and glossy needles. Excellent needle
holding.
SCOTS PINE - If you want
something unusual this the tree for you. Extra long needles that don't drop.
A
big bushy bear of a tree.
POT GROWN - These trees
have spent all their lives growing in a pot. If looked after correctly ,
they
can be planted the garden after Christmas.
